We want to work closely with the people of Jersey on this project, and as a result have already reached out to individuals at key organisations on the island that can help us.
We intend for The Battle of the Strong to create employment opportunities for islanders, both through the monies a budget of £15m will bring to the island - and the ongoing positive impact of having a major international movie based there.
Moreover, we intend to employ islanders in both our production team and cast (extras, acting roles) - and give film enthusiastic youngsters from the island the opportunity to have work experience with us.
All funders of the project will be featured in our end credits, and we are happy for any funding organisations to market their involvement with the film.
These are the following ways we intend for the film to support the island of Jersey and its residents:
- A permanent soundstage will be built on the island - a facility young filmmakers and future film productions can use. It will create a legacy for filmmaking in Jersey/prove a great resource for people filming on the island/future filmmakers.
It will be sustainable through fees paid to use it/tours of where The Battle of the Strong was shot on the island.
- Hire locals/schoolchidren and people to appear as extras in the movie.
- Work with local organisations to create a filming system that will support future movies on the island.
- Shoot at iconic landmarks - to bring Jersey to the world/enhance tourism for the island.
- Involve talented creatives from the island with all levels of production.
- Hire local businesses to help us with building the set/the production.
